Kate Chandler and Giselle Nuaz are best friends and kiteboarders from the beach lifestyle Blog; Uma Loura e uma Morena. They live in north east Brazil and run their bi-lingual blog for the Brazilian daily national newspaper Diario Nordeste.

Kate Chandler is a London born professional kiteboarder. In 2012 Kate was voted the 2nd most Influential Female Kitboarder in the world coming just 17 votes behind 1st place. She is also a keen soul surfer, artist, kitesurf and yoga teacher. Kate is the daughter of famous Jimi Hendrix producer and musician Chas Chandler and former Miss UK model, Madeline Stringer. With such an interesting start to life it's no wonder she finds her self on so many adventures on the wild beaches of Northern Brazil.

Brazilian born Giselle Nuaz is Kates partner in crime and on adventures.

Giselle Nuaz was born in Fortaleza but soon decided the city life was not for her. At the age of just 17 she packed her bags and moved to the beach paradise town of Jericocoara where she fell in love with kiteboarding and learnt to speak English and Spanish. Giselle worked as a professional kite photographer, before becoming a kite instructor. After 4 years in the wilderness she moved back to Fortaleza where she studied Marketing and Journalism. She now works as a beach based journalist within the kiteboard industry.

Uma Loura e uma Morena, what does that mean?

Loura literally means Blonde and morena, Brunette. Separately the girls were always called these words, loura, or morena by their friends and they became kind of nicknames. Once the girls became friends they became Loura, Morena. When they arrived at parties or the beach people would say "chegou a loura e a morena" (the Blonde and the Brunette have arrived) or people would say  as they wandered the beaches or streets in their bikinis "Viishhii maria uma loura e uma morena".  They heard it so many times that it was the natural choice when it came to naming the blog.
